welcome to tuesday, april 29
why we’ve been anxiously awaiting tuesday, april 29th (and happy day-after-your-birthday ms. tanner!):
1. tegan and sara in albuquerque (!!!!), which means
2. dinner at zinc, which we’ve been wanting to try + they have a tequila tasting! (yes, right up the a.r.w.’s
alley, but unfortunately not going to happen due to the inevitable hour drive after the concert)
3. the release of a new portishead album
4. one day closer to the philly trip
speaking of which, are philly cheesesteaks that good?

cheese, steak, bread, onions. need i say more?
to be honest…..I haven’t had a really good one. The traditional ones entail fairly low quality, high-fat beef, covered in “wiz” (that’s cheese wiz), wrapped in a hard loaf that tastes like stale wonderbread. I’ve been to some of the “best” joints in the city and walked away nonplussed. This is not to mention the politics of the store owners who rountinely have anti-immigrant signage at the counters demanding orders spoken in english. “This is ehmerica, speak engliss or get er out.” (for more on this kerfluffle, google: immigration and pat’s steaks)
…let’s say this, I will do some research, and find some good ones for us to sample and enjoy and perhaps we can change my current opinions…..
