Birthday Flowers
So yes, today is the birthday.
I am accustomed
to having high expectations for things like birthdays — i.e. (upon waking up in the morning, I think to myself): this cup of coffee must be the best cup of coffee I have ever had because it is my birthday cup of coffee. Needless to say, somehow I feel a bit of…pressure. It’s not just with birthdays, but with any semi-significant event in my life.
I must say, however, that today has been pressure-free.
Editorial Postscript: thanks for all the birthday wishes, dear readers!

Is it your birthday? If so…HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
And those flowers are pretty
due to an overattentive mother who grew up poor, birthdays (and all such significant events) have always been high-pressure occasions for me too. i expect (but will never ask) people to make the day nothing short of amazing for me. dealing with my unrealistic expectations on birthdays/graduations/holidays since i left home has been quite difficult to say the least.
oh and happy birthday
Happy birthday!
My birthday was the 30th and I had the same thing - until I tripped putting on my favorite shirt and ripped a hole in the armpit - then I realized the plan had to be like that of every other day: survive.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope it’s lovely wherever you are!
Oh, noes! I didn’t look at my blog reader yesterday.
