Contrariwise.org was originally a website used for the owner’s high school photography assignment. Today, she maintains a series of literary tattoo photographs —
“tattoos based on books, poems, lyrics, and many other things.” It appears that many tattoo fans like Kurt Vonnegut, The Little Prince, E.E. Cummings and Walt Whitman. This site is literally tattoo inspiration for the literary.

I love tattoos like this! Very cool.
I plan on getting a tattoo based on a book, but it’s not going to be words but a symbol it describes. I dunno how I would feel about people literally reading me. :o)
i always wanted a tat but haven’t found anything i like enough picture-wise, and i always thought words were tacky/strange. this is changing my opinion though. looooove the ‘mischief managed’ one.

i’d really like to get another tattoo, and this site is certainly inspiring. i’m just waiting to have the guts to commit.
