Total Surrender

Couldn’t resist sharing this with the interwebs in lieu of a real post (which is coming soon — The GREs can take a lot out of a one’s desire to blog)…

Sarah Palin is a symbol of everything that is wrong with the modern United States. As a representative of our political system, she’s a new low in reptilian villainy, the ultimate cynical masterwork of puppeteers like Karl Rove. But more than that, she is a horrifying symbol of how little we ask for in return for the total surrender of our political power. Not only is Sarah Palin a fraud, she’s the tawdriest, most half-assed fraud imaginable, 20 floors below the lowest common denominator, a character too dumb even for daytime TV – And this country is going to eat her up, cheering every step of the way. All because most Americans no longer have the energy to do anything but lie back and allow ourselves to be jacked off by the calculating thieves who run this grasping consumer paradise we call a nation.

FYI - My greatest fear is that Sarah Palin will end up ruling the country. At which point, I believe we will be doomed.

I just bought an overpriced, imported copy of the Rolling Stones issue that contains this article and have been going back and forth on whether to post an excerpt or not. I thought the piece was fantastic and despite Taibbi’s absolutely vitriolic journalism, I appreciated his earnestness and quite frankly, I don’t understand why more people aren’t stomping around America in utter outrage.
Oh, and good luck on the GRE. I’m dreading taking the second one when I eventually get around to applying to PhD programs. The one I took for my Master’s almost killed me!

Hélas, I think this says it all:

Besides, just *think* about how hard the GRE would have been for Palin! I have no doubt you kicked its little electronically escalating arse (hate that new feature)….

DB — I couldn’t have said it better. Taibbi’s piece was fantastic. I think it’s important to post something like this — a lot of people don’t read the Rolling Stone and would never be exposed to such an article. Instead of buying overpriced, imported copies, you can always find it online! Though, admittedly, I’d prefer to read it in print rather than on my monitor.

UN – Hilarious video. I was a big Mighty Ducks fan when I was a kid — it speaks to me and my age group which is obviously important, especially now.

And you wonder why so many people are making plans to head to Canada should the election go the wrong way. Unbelievable that people even consider her qualified or ready to lead our country.

A co-worker introduced this article to me… She doesn’t symbolize everything that is wrong with the United States, but she sure does give it her best. Just saying…

hoppster, Great way to begin your RS subscription! That article was an awesome read. I’m currently working on the McCain article in the latest issue — it’s extremely educational, and appalling.
